Helping puppies and humans grow in confidence so you can enjoy life together!
Maybe you’ve had dogs before, or maybe this is your first, perhaps you find yourself making comparisons and worrying that you’re not getting things ‘right’.
You might have a lot of outside noise from other dog owners, social media and well meaning friends and it all adds up to leaving you more confused and unsure of what the ‘right’ way to train your puppy is.
Every dog and human partnership is unique, neither of you are robots and that’s why trying to follow generic advice can lead you astray and leave you feeling more confused and stressed than ever.
Whether your puppy’s biting your hands and feet and ragging on your clothes, struggling to sleep through the night, overreacting to dogs and people on walks or just not listening to you… I can help!

“We cannot thank Jo enough for her help with our Bernedoodle puppy Hector. Throughout this process we have been so impressed by her knowledge and understanding of dog behaviour.
In particular though, we have greatly appreciated how her advice is tailored towards the needs of the whole family, our young children and puppy, so we could implement changes that suited us as a whole. I believe this was the key to all of our success with Hector, and now 1 year on we have such a wonderful family dog who has a great relationship with our young children.
Jo has always been available and willing to help in every capacity she can, providing us with lots of literature and resources around every scenario we presented her with and never making us feel like we are asking for too much help. We are so glad that we found her and have been given such a great start to our next life chapter of having a dog.”

The smart alternative to puppy classes
We work together in real life in your home and in the places you want to take your dog, so that you can work through problems and grow skills in the environments that matter.
I work with you to understand the emotions beneath your dog’s behaviour and develop a training plan that’s realistic for you to fit into your daily life because training only works when you can do it consistently.
While group classes can be a useful introduction for some owners and dogs, a personalised approach allows you to work on the specific struggles you’re facing, in the places where they happen.
Raise a calm, confident puppy who’s easy to live with and a joy to walk.

“Jo has been a godsend. She helped so much with our unruly dog, Paislie. We can now go for walks with more confidence. I would recommend Jo to anyone. She explains things so it’s easy to understand and follow. She sees your pet as an individual and creates ideas around their personality. She is hands on and doesn’t just sit and give you her ideas she guides you every step of the way. “

What does puppy training cover?
Each puppy training package is developed based on your puppy and your family’s needs. We’ll work together on the struggles you’re having and the goals you have – plus take a preventative approach to help you avoid future problems as you enter adolescence and beyond.
Some of the key areas covered:
- Understanding body language – so you can understand what your puppy’s behaviour is telling you and guide them confidently through socialisation and interactions with dogs and people.
- Essential dog training skills – teach your puppy good habits like wait, leave, drop, recall, and loose lead walking, so daily life is easier and your bond grows strong.
- How to prevent aggression problems later in life – prevent problems starting so you nip issues in the bud before they grow into bigger challenges.
- Socialisation in real world environments – expose your puppy safely to people, places, and experiences, so they stay calm and curious rather than fearful.
- Support with current behaviour issues – focused time spent on the worries bothering you the most, so you can enjoy your puppy.
